Solar Ovens

Solar ovens are a great alternative cooking source as well as being used for cooking outdoors during the summer heat.  There is a comparison sheet of the SOS Sport Sun Oven  and the Global Sun Oven HERE.   For information about each oven, view the following links and decide which oven fits your needs and budget. Both are great ovens.

SOS Sport Oven

This is the oven that was displayed at the local Houston North Stake's Preparedness Fair on May 30th. The temperatures don't get as high as in the Sun Oven - it's more like a slow cooker so it will not burn food. It is a great oven and doesn't cost as much. Some families who bought this oven last year have been cooking in it off and on all year. It does a great job and is very easy to use. You can check out this oven HERE. Click all the buttons, read the reviews and watch the videos.

Global Sun Oven

This oven can get up to 350 degrees. It is a great oven and it will give you many years of service.  Because of it's greater temperatures, on a bright sunny day it can cook almost as fast as a regular oven.  It is possible to burn sugary food, like cookies, if not watched.  Check it out HERE.
